Investor's Corner

The Opportunity

In JACKPOT, the challenges the main characters encounter do not just come from outside sources but are generated by the characters themselves too. This is why JACKPOT is such a unique film project and why, as with Lottery Ticket and The Pursuit of Happyness, moviegoers won’'t be able to stop talking about the film— whether it’'s after seeing the film for the first time or the fiftieth. That is why JACKPOT is such a promising investment opportunity.

The Viability

There are many reasons why we are certain that JACKPOT is a viable film, well worth the investment. We will provide you with reason after reason throughout the formal proposal. For now, let’s start with two you’re probably already familiar with: Lottery Ticket and The Pursuit of Happyness. Here's why…

Lottery Ticket (2010) - This funny success story is based on the life of Kevin Carson who wins the $370 million lottery, and soon realizes that people from the city are not his real friends, but are after his money. This story comedically displays the results that millions of Americans hope for everyday...to win the lottery!

The Pursuit of Happyness (2006) - This biographical drama is about a "never give up” on-and-off homeless salesman and his son's struggle to survive. This coming of age story, regardless of the culture, socio-economic level or age group, plays well to audiences around the world.

Both movies were wildly successful with Lottery Ticket earning $24,719,879 (gross) worldwide on an estimated $17 million production budget and The Pursuit of Happyness racking up $307,077,295 in worldwide gross sales on an estimated $55 million production budget. Now imagine the possibilities for JACKPOT, considering that JACKPOT takes cues from each of those films …and then takes the art of story-telling to a new level.

While the movies themselves had excellent production value and clever scripts, that alone is not what helped to catapult each to success; marketing did. As such, we have given great thought to the strategies that we will utilize to market the film and the means for funding its promotion. This is something that most filmmakers fail to do. So, rest assured, the fact that we already have those plans in place means that this film is already a more viable investment that other would-be films that may debut during the same period as JACKPOT. In short, we are planning for JACKPOT’'s success… literally.

The Appeal

Movies within the classic overarching “rags to riches” theme have been successful, highly profitable films for generations.

The reason: People identify with the situations that the main characters are experiencing —empathetically, sympathetically or nostalgically— regardless of the main character's’ race or culture.

The proof: Hollywood studios green-light multiple films each year with that exact theme. They do it because the films make money on VOD sales, DVD sales, television distribution and yes, theatre sales domestically and abroad.
